1.0 de 5 estrellas PUT THE REQUIRES A APPLICATOR GUN IN THE FIRST SENTANCE OF DESCRIPTION
have no idea if its any good or not, every single can of spray foam I have bought on line has come with an applicator tube. This product at the bottom of its description says “requires applicator gun”. Forget that, I was just looking for a black spray foam. Deceptive description. PUT IT FIRST THAT IT IS NOT A COMPLETE PRODUCT.

4 of the 12 cans sent are defective, and will not release any foam whatsoever. But Amazon would not replace the item due to the order being at the end of august. I was waiting for my new building construction to be completed. So basically there saying. You just use all 12 cans within 30 days to have any type of warranty replacement. In the past 5 years I’ve spent over $25,000 with Amazon. So they are losing a loyal customer over a $40 product warranty

5.0 de 5 estrellas Great for sealing gaps in the attic
This works wonderful for sealing gaps in the attic where air is leaking around ceiling penetrations. My trick is to use a Fluke infrared camera to find hot or cold spots on a very hot day or very cold day. Then I check to see if those areas correspond to an air leak, if there are any gaps around a ceiling fixture or roof vent. I sealed up the gaps with this Akfix fire block foam. I like using fire block for everything just for a little extra insurance against fire spread. This container covers a lot of holes so it is best to identify the areas ahead of time and then mark them and do them all at once. Be sure to have some kind of cleanup like acetone because when it gets on your hands or clothing it’s not coming off otherwise.

4.0 de 5 estrellas You Also Need a PU Foam Gun to Apply
No se pudo cargar el archivo multimedia. Having never used PU foam before, I thought it would apply just like gap filling foam I’ve used in the past.No need to have a special gun previously, but with this you do. But, the guns aren’t too expensive. It applied fairly well. I was able to clean up some spots on the wall before it dried. Afterwards, some kind of long knife or saw will work for trimming…just like regular gap foam. Just watch out for electrical wires. No way for me to tell if this really holds off fire but my firefighting son says “it’s good stuff”.So, recommended and I hope this helps.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Good product at a good price.
This foam worked perfectly with my Great Stuff foam gun. This performed just like the similar product from Great Stuff. This foam is fire rated for gaps and cracks in framing. The foam is properly color coded, kind of a salmon color like other fire rated foams. This makes it easy for inspectors to quickly identify proper sealing in new construction framing. This can contains more than the Great Stuff cans I’ve purchased at local building supply store at a lower price. Good product at a good price.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Easy to use foam
I like this large can of spray foam insulation. I needed to repair a section of foam damaged by some workers in my crawl space. This filled in the area they tore up, and there was enough in the can to get some other spots that the crawl space encapsulation experts did poorly. I have not tested the fire proof feature, but I used this below my bedroom instead of stuff from the box store. As is normal with spray foam, use the whole can, you can’t get any more out of it if you let a half empty can sit for a while.

4.0 de 5 estrellas Huge can of expanding foam
This is much like the usual expanding foam used to seal all kinds of cavities and spaces in construction. The additional feature is that it has a fire safety rating. This is required in some applications and desirable and others. This brand is made in Turkey and seems quite comparable in performance to the brands I’ve used before here in the US.

3.0 de 5 estrellas Not sure if closed or open cell foam. Open cell foam is not waterproof. No gun with foam.
It is not clear if this foam is waterproof. Open cell foam is not waterproof. It does not come with a gun so you will have to invest in a PU Gun and a cleaning solvent. The vendor should mention this in the product description.

4.0 de 5 estrellas Decent expansion
Just do NOT get this stuff on your fingers; you’ll regret not wearing nitrile gloves. I’ve had the pleasure of laying down a lot of spray foam for my new construction garage. This AKFix stuff works great. I do own an all-metal pro spray gun and this works just like the famous brands out there. Clean up was easy with existing spray foam gun cleaner I’ve been using. The expansion seems on-par with my famous brand stuff.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Breathe New Life into an Old Home with Akfix 840P
Ah, old houses. They’re full of charm and memories, but sometimes, they’re also full of gaps and cracks. When I embarked on the journey to repair my parents’ old house, I was determined to find a solution that would not only be effective but also safe. Enter Akfix 840P.One of the most significant concerns for older homes is fire safety. With Akfix 840P being fire-rated and self-extinguishable, it eased a lot of my anxieties. Knowing that I was using a product designed especially for areas requiring fire blocks, gave me, and my parents, peace of mind.Insulation was another concern. Old houses can get drafty, and with electrical wiring running through the walls, I needed something that would adhere powerfully while also providing insulation. The Akfix foam sealed the deal – literally. It bonded quickly to most of the building materials I encountered and provided excellent insulation around electrical wiring, making the house not just safer but also warmer. The filling capacity of this foam was impressive. It expanded beautifully, filling even the most challenging gaps and cracks, making walls and window frames look as good as new. And the best part? I could paint over it once it cured, ensuring the repairs blended seamlessly with the rest of the house.Using the Akfix 840P was a breeze. While I’m not the most DIY-savvy person, this product was user-friendly. Armed with a spray foam gun, I felt like a professional. The application was clean, quick, and efficient. From window frames to ceilings, electrical outlets to water pipes, no crack was left unattended.**Pros:**- Fire-rated, offering an extra layer of safety.- Exceptional adhesion and insulation capabilities.- Expands to fill gaps effectively and can be painted over.- User-friendly, even for those new to DIY home repairs.**Cons:**- Ensure proper ventilation during application.- A bit on the pricier side, but you’re paying for quality. In the end, my parents’ old home not only felt safer but also looked refreshed. I’ve always believed in the saying, “Old ways won’t open new doors.” But with Akfix 840P, old walls sure got a fresh lease on life! If your renovation journey sounds like mine, this might just be your go-to companion.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Expanding foam on steroids.
I’ve used a lot of expanding foam in my life but this is by far a better product in my opinion. My main use was a fireproof safe that I had built to keep ammunition in. I had insulated with hard rock board sufficiently but wanted to seal the corners and joints and backfill some cavities. This is supposed to be fire resistant as well so I thought it ideal. It does not take nearly as much of this product as with the off the shelf offerings at your local big box stores. It’s hard to say if it’s better, this is just the kind of stuff you apply and hopefully never have to worry about again. I do know that this product went a lot further and I think had a better quality appearance when cured. It may be a little slower at expanding but it expands much more. Be careful applying in cavities without anywhere for it to go you may cause problems with panels swelling out or something similar. Good stuff though.

  25. Vadersdad

3.0 de 5 estrellas Expanded way more than I anticipated
I was hoping for minimal expansion after applying. It is the same as most other foam insulation, less like a water sealer. I have to go back and cut off all the expanded sections. Even after letting it set for a few days, our waterfall still has leaks. It did not expand easily into the cracks. During application, it would fall off the rock surface I was spraying on, requiring me to manually place it where I needed it.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Great expanding foam for areas that can warp or pop.
There’s a joke around our house that “No job is complete until the spray foam comes out!” I use the stuff on almost every job. There’s the minimal expanding version that’s safe for windows and doors and big gap fillers. What’s “safe”? Well, that’s a mistake you only make once. If you use the big gap filling foam or regular volume foam in the wrong place you can actually damage your work. I used it once to fill gaps between drywall and bricks. It blew the drywall off the studs and I had to replace half the sheetrock. A friend used the wrong stuff on a door installation and it warped the frame. So if you need minimal expanding – and minimal force – this is the foam. Good for windows, door frames, drywall gaps and so on.Check the listing carefully – some require a foam gun. If you don’t have a foam gun yet, avoid the $20 ones – they’re a pain to clean and clog easily. Get the $45 one. Cost wise, it’s a wash between this and disposable. But this can be used over a few weeks and there’s a LOT of foam here. Others don’t need the foam gun.”Water Resistant” is just that – it won’t stop a continuous leak – or example, patch a foundation crack or leaky roof. Rain will shed off the stuff, but if a puddle forms it will eventually leak.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Good stuff to keep out the bad
We got this to fill in the holes in our vacation home. It was poorly remodeled before we bought it, and lots and lots of bugs have made their way into cracks and crevices. This is easy to use and I feel a lot better knowing it’s blocking out the bad things. Glad it offers waterproofing protection, too. All in all, very happy with item! Use it if you want to keep the bugs and drafts out

5.0 de 5 estrellas Fill the gaps expansion foam
Great for all kinds of projects. In this case we used portions to seal a rotted doorway preventing further weather and pest intrusion. This is an enormous can and arrives with a protection cover in place to keep from unwanted deployment. The volume of this can has an estimated equivalent of at least two full size brand name cans purchased from a home goods store. When price is considered that makes this a reasonable and competitive value.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Fire inspector approved
The county fire inspector asked my to put fire rated foam around the vertical holes where plumbing penetrated from the basement to the first floor. This foam went on easily once attached to the sprayer and the inspector cleared the house for an occupancy permit.

  35. Valued Customer

5.0 de 5 estrellas Does it’s job, good price
I’ve used a lot of spray foam, and if you’re doing more than a few windows, this style can where you need a separate gun is the way to go. It’s a better value per $, and it stores well if you only partially use it. The little cans with the straw always have the straw/nozzle get gummed up and often you can’t use the can when you go back to it.There are different expansion foams for different uses, so make sure you get the right one for your application! This works as well as any other brand I’ve used, in both heat and cold. It’s been reliable and no-fuss, which is all you can really ask of a product like this. Price is reasonable for a single can, the real deal is in the six pack, which is currently half the price per bottle of the single can. This is good stuff.

2.0 de 5 estrellas Needs A PU Spray Gun
I am unable to say anything about the quality of foam from this can. It needs a $35 PU spray gun to use. (Not going to spend that kind of money just for one can.) That means you’d be spending around $47 for just one can of spray foam that costs normally $7. I was unaware of this, otherwise I never would have ordered it.

  37. Jim B.

2.0 de 5 estrellas Good foam, but you need an applicator to use it
I had an immediate need to fill some gaps around my foundation, so I was excited to get this can of fire proof foam to fill them in, but when I received it I was not able to use it as it requires an applicator to funnel the foam to its target and this item did not include one. I can get the foam out without the applicator, but it’s a mess to use and apply, so I rally can’t recommend buying this unless you get a different version

  38. Mark S

5.0 de 5 estrellas Good installation spray foam
This spray foam worked really well to fill in the gaps of our siding to ensure there was no openings where water or insects can get through. It was easy to use and did a good job filling in a lot of gaps.We like it.

  39. Tyler Forge

5.0 de 5 estrellas Fantastic stuff – requires special gun
You need a foam gun in order to use this stuff and you need some special cleaner to clean that foam gun out. But it is totally worth it because this foam is magic. It is amazing the way it expands out to fill and seal gaps and then hardens into darn near a rock.I think that just about every contractor knows about this stuff. The only thing to watch out for is that you want to use as much of the can as possible because it doesn’t store well after being opened.

  40. B.A.R.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Big can. Works well
This works just as well as the other brands of similar foams I’ve used. This is a very large can, and you’ll need to have the expensive reusable gun to dispense it. There are a ton of different foams that I’ve used. Window and door doesn’t expand as much so it wont deform the casings. Fireblock is great for filling holes in studs or ceilings. The Pest block is perfect for outdoors or around pipes and wires entering your house.

  41. Palm Harbor Appraiser

5.0 de 5 estrellas Fire and Mice!
I got this for the RV as we were getting mice coming in from somewhere! I went through all openings I could find and sprayed this Akfix fire block. Figuring this would help in a few ways, including mice stop! I had to get the spray nozzle that fits this, not a big deal, just didn’t realize it when I ordered. It takes some practice to have control over applying it, but didn’t take long. It feels like any other spray foam. Cleanup was easy, with foam cleaner. Have not reused the spray foam gun. This actually gave me enough confidence I may try spraying the new build walls and roof!

  42. Brecken

5.0 de 5 estrellas Large capacity, but requires a application gun
I didn’t realize this was the professional size can and requires the ownership of a dispensing gun, my bad, I didn’t read the listing very well. It is clearly stated. So I ran to my local box store and purchased a gun (yes, Amazon sells them as well) to use my product around two doors in a new chicken house we had just built. I liked that the foam didn’t over expand and put pressure on the door jamb and create issues with the door latching. Like other reviewers have stated, you need to make sure you use the right product for the job and not pick up a can of big gap filler that will cause all kinds of problems in this application. I still had plenty of foam left in the can after doing two doors and their remainder in the can should store well since you remove the applicator from the can and it reseals. So that is a nice feature, because ones I buy at the store, once you use them the rest seems to go bad sitting on the shelf and the applicator is once and done. So, i can see why professional use this style. It worked well for me, so I would recommend it to others.

I used it to seal up the gaps around my fireplace and it’s been working great. It’s completely fireproof and it’s also waterproof. I’m not worried about any sparks or flames getting through now.The foam is also really easy to use. Just spray it into the gaps and it expands to fill them up. It’s also really fast drying, so you can get the job done quickly.I highly recommend Akfix 840P Fire Block PU Spray Foam to anyone who needs a fireproof and waterproof foam. It’s the best foam I’ve ever used.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Seals air gaps
This foam filled the gaps that I had inside my wall. I’m installing some rockwool soundproofing material and I’m using this foam to seal where the builders left holes to install the electrical as well as other old holes that they never closed up which is allowing mice and insects to enter home as well as air. I really appreciate Akfix because this can is way bigger than the typical great stuff foam. So more product for a better price. You can’t go wrong. Stop buying great stuff and go with Akfix.

    5.0 de 5 estrellas Pricey
This is pricier than the stuff I usually buy but I am always winning to give a new product a try. This performs just like the stuff you can buy at the blue box store. This does have an advantage to the stuff sold in stores. The stores around me only stock the one time use cans. I hardly ever get close to using a full can and the rest goes to waste. With this can, I’m able to reuse as needed. That alone is worth the price difference for me.

2.0 de 5 estrellas This foam is non-expanding.
After using other AKFix products, I was looking for a UV resistant foam to seal a gap between two joined metal buildings. I guess I’ll take the blame for assuming it expanded. But, unless it is in really fine print on the can or in the description; it doesn’t describe what sort of expansion this product has at all. Most other canned foam products give you some sort of idea on the expansion rate and/or how many board feet of foam is in the can. I supposed it’s good for whatever it’s intended for…maybe to seal roof penetrations in RV’s since it talks about that. Anyway, some sort of indication of expansion rate should be more clear on the can or the company website.
