5.0 de 5 estrellas Works well
Purchased this stand-up weeder because of back issues. It works great on dandelions, plantain, and larger similar weeds. However, I still need a hoe to the the smaller weeds. It is simple to use and really does get out those larger weeds with the deeper roots. Would purchase again.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Wood pole broke after about 9 months.
I liked the tool and it helped me to remove a ton of crabgrass from my backyard as well as several weeds in the front. Lasted one season but for the price, I expected it to hold up longer.Pros:+ Metal part is very durable and Effective at removing a variety of weeds.Con:- Tool does not automatically release the weed if there’s clay-rich soil like we have here in Texas. It got annoying having to reach down to remove the weed from the metal several times in one day.- Unfortunately the wooden pole broke after a year and instead of bothering with trying to replace the wood, I bought another one with metal pole.

5.0 de 5 estrellas The Perfect Tool for Tackling Tough Weeds with Ease
After using Grampa’s Weeder for a week, I can honestly say it’s a game-changer. Since I recently had surgery, bending down to pull weeds is a struggle. I previously tried a cheaper version of a similar tool, but it didn’t work well and barely pulled anything. I almost gave up but decided to give this one a shot—and I’m so glad I did! It’s amazing. While it may not be the best for thin, single weeds, it’s perfect for larger weeds with deep roots, especially those growing close to concrete. This tool makes weeding so much easier and requires very little strength. Even my 7-year-old can help out! We’ve been spending a couple of hours in the garden each day, and it’s been a fun bonding experience. We’re both excited to continue working toward a beautiful, weed-free backyard—all with our own hands.

5.0 de 5 estrellas This tool is great if you don’t want to spend the summer on your knees
Ya’ll, I have been overhauling my yard for over a year. I’ve been able to get rid of the clover and stickers but the crabgrass and other wide-leaf weeds are taking over. It’s so hot the Bermuda grass is having a hard time keeping up. I decided I didn’t want to scoot around the yard on my butt or crawl around on my knees so this seemed like just what I needed. It was and is. It works exactly like the photos online and on the instruction sheet that comes with it. There is no assembly required. This has made weeding so easy and I’m relieved that it did.

Super good weeded! Driveway was riddled with pesky weeds that I was removing by hand. This tool has cut down my back strain and made it so much easier to keep my property weed free! Ingenious!

Seems well made and works well… saved on all the bending and made quicker work on removing the weeds and getting the roots of most!

4.0 de 5 estrellas Works quite well — on the right weeds
If you have a strong, solitary dandelion to deal with, this gizmo will pop it out of the ground very efficiently, roots and all. On the other hand, it doesn’t work particularly well on weeds that are crowded together, or weeds that don’t have the strong stems and roots of dandelions.

4.0 de 5 estrellas Back Saver!!
The Grampa’s Weeder Weed Pulling Tool is a game-changer! It makes pulling weeds incredibly easy and saves your back from the strain of bending over. The tool efficiently pulls out weeds with minimal effort. I did need to use my hands to remove some of the clumps of weeds and dirt it brings up, but overall it’s a fantastic, time-saving tool. Highly recommend!

4.0 de 5 estrellas Makes getting weeds out mostly easier
This is definitely better than some of the newer “improved” versions, or the (mostly) plastic knock-offs. Solidly built, with a mechanism that just works without a lot of fussing around. Overall, it does do a pretty good job of grabbing hold of weeds (especially the bigger dandelions and the like) and getting them all the way out (as long as you actually stick this down in the middle of the weed). The handle seems solid, and you can get a fair amount of torque on it to pull out the really stubborn weeds. Probably the only complaint I have is that, maybe 20% of the time, the weed I just pulled will wind up stuck in the tines, and no amount of shaking or banging will get it to come off and fall in my weeding bucket, so I still find myself leaning over to dig a weed out of the tool. Granted, the tool is still making the job easier overall–I just wish there was an easier way to “eject” weeds that get stuck (that wasn’t me digging them out with another tool). I definitely don’t regret buying this, and I know I’m going to get my money’s worth out of it, so I’d still call it a good buy.

5.0 de 5 estrellas I’m of “Grandma” age…this thing works!!!
We have MILES of dandelions in our yard. Every year I attempt to begin clearing the ones I see from the kitchen in our back yard. I have to use a poker and get on my hands and knees and last about 30 minutes before pooping out. I might work on it for two or three days and give up.When I saw a similar tool advertised on social media, I started looking around for something like it. I was hoping for a version made in the United States (this one isn’t it’s made in China…labeled as PRC). But when I saw the mostly stellar reviews, I decided to give it a try. Besides, the company who sells this version is in Oregon and I live in Oregon, too.I was excited to get it and when it came, I gave it a whirl. WOW!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS THING!!! I can “pull” a dozen or so before having to bend over to pull them up and put them in my bucket. I’m trying to be careful to leave as much dirt as I can so I do work at it a bit but this took is such a knee and back saver. It will get some of the deeper tap roots, but some do break off. I would expect that. Weeds are pesky and come back so it will be a long-term battle but I can now see the light. I can win over these weeds! Thanks for the great, well-made product. Wish it was made in the USA.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Pretty impressive
I live in the Sierra Mountain foothills so our ground is rocky. I tested the tool today when I received it and must say that I am generally very impressed with it. Because of so many days of temperatures over 105 degrees the ground is really dry and hard right now and there are lots of small rocks so on first try there were a number of weeds that did not want to pull up. I solved the problem by running a hose in the area where I wanted to work for about 20 minutes and let it sit for about 30 minutes .. with almost no exceptions the weeds pulled right up. I did find that getting the pulled weed out of the tines was a bit of a bother but I took a long stick from the yard and used it to shove the weed off of the tines and let it fall in the green waste bucket. For reasons known only to the amazingly wet winter last year we had weeds that were waist high making finding the center of the weed a challenge. I used my cordless weed whacker to lop off the top 1/2 of the weed so I could see the centers of the weeds and removal was no issue. In a normal year we never have weeds this tall so I am not faulting the tool at all. I am 76 and leaning over to pull these weeds is not an option and the roots are so deep that a hoe or shovel would not pull them out so I am pleased with the tool. I purposefully bought the branded named tool and I am glad that I did.

4.0 de 5 estrellas I hate gardening!
As part of my company’s “Summer of Service” program, along with a group of my colleagues, I spent a morning assisting a wonderful social service organization in West Philadelphia, ACHIEVEability. The last time our group cleaned up and painted one of the porches at a home nearby. This time, we were tasked with tending to one of the local gardens. I did title my review “I hate gardening”. I bought my own gloves so our leader that day assumed that I was experienced and enjoyed gardening. I explained that it was just the opposite. I have an out of control bed in front of my house and the fancy gloves are to protect me from the thorns. That’s when I learned of this tool and put it in my cart. It gets 4 stars because it is not 100% as advertised…there was some bending involved (but I used it to lean on). Also, I still don’t always get the weed – I am getting the hang of it. That said the before and after pics attached to this review was about 20 minutes of work. I definitely recommend this product!

4.0 de 5 estrellas Works
This thing is great! but only if you have it exactly in the middle of the weed. Sometimes it’s very hard to line up perfectly and you’ll end up only pulling about half out. It does leave quite the hole after pulling the weed. When it’s lined up good it takes the whole root out which is very satisfying. I wish there was a better way to take the weed off rather than using my hands. Saves time and effort.

4.0 de 5 estrellas A sturdy feel.
Glad I got this and used it yesterday. I was able to get my decent sized backyard lawn in about 15 minutes.I only used on Dandelions since it’s easy to see the center where the root is. I followed the easy to follow instructions for two weeds. Along with the weed, it also pulled out a nice plug of soil. I decided to modify the directions for the next weeds. This means not forcing the tunes as deep as your foot can push them down. I only pushed down enough to get around the center of the root system. This still pulled out a plug of soil but not as much. This concerns me and will continue to develop a technic.Another type of weed in my yard may not be applicable to this tool. It is a tendril type and its root center is not easy visible.I loved the fact that I could pull up a lot of weeds in a short time. I still had to pull of the ‘plugs’ of soil as they stuck to the tines. Not a big deal. I’m no spring chicken and it beats bending over for every weed.I am 6’2 and the length of the handle is comfortable.I recommend it….

5.0 de 5 estrellas Saves my back and knees
I have to say this weeding tool is quite impressive. I literally filled my bin with three quarters full of weeds.I use both my right hand and arm and my left hand and arm to pick the weeds up. It is the easiest tool I have found to pick up weeds. I am planting Dutch white clover into my lawn to slowly take over so I don’t have any lawn or more weeds to deal with.I will be sharing my weed tool with other friends. Hopefully I won’t be needing it in the future?

4.0 de 5 estrellas Good But Not Great
Took a little getting used to. I think it gets to the root of certain types of weeds well, but bigger weeds it is almost completely ineffective. If you are tall (6 ft 1), it still feels like you are bending down to effectively get the weeds out. I think this probably works better if you are average height or smaller.

4.0 de 5 estrellas Works
This is good and works good if the ground is slightly moist. If the ground is dry, the roots of the thistles break off. If the ground is very wet, this gets mud Clogged in the Working edge. I think it could be good if you work it in soil that’s not extremely dry or extremely wet. It does pull up the roots. And that’s the only way you can get rid of thistles.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Makes weeding fun!
I have been looking for something like this for quite a while. Weeding is a back killer, but with this fun tool, it is a breeze. Welcome to weeding without the bending over and no ache. It does take a couple tries to figure out the best way to use it for different weeds – as it can take out a huge chunk of soil with some of the more superficial weeds, but it is easy to adjust your technique. Highly recommend.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Amazing what a little leverage can do to pull a weed
I’d never heard of this tool before; but the reviews were quite persuasive and I would say they were accurate. This thing allows you to apply leverage to extricate a large weed and its roots in one easy operation. It may not be the most exciting garden tool I’ve ever seen; but it does the job and easily too. I am glad I bought it.

4.0 de 5 estrellas It works
It does work. However, much of my yard and driveway have very hard dirt and I have trouble getting it in the ground where the roots are. But if your ground isn’t too hard, this works well for one by one weed removal.

I saw this on an Instagram post and thought I’d give it a try because I’m sick of digging out weeds only to not get all the roots. This thing is AMAZING. 5.0 de 5 estrellas Perfect
Works precisely as advertised. Basic nuisance weeds in your lawn [not near plant beds] will slip out effortlessly with two motions [insert and rock out]. You may encounter horizontal roots near or in a plant bed that the tool will capture in addition to the weed. In that case the obvious applies, you will have to use your hand or loppers to resolve. Bending over to the ground repeatedly is very uncomfortable for me and this tool is worth every penny.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Just works!
I would give this a 4.5 stars if possible – since it doesn’t work in ALL situations and I’m a tough grader, but it does work – better than any other weeding product we’ve purchased. Been through a bunch and they mostly are useless or of very limited use – this old desigh just seems to work, not sure exactly what it is about this since the Corona version was more expensive and seemed better designed, but rarely removed tough weeds easily. That’s what’s great about this weeder – it removes weeds that gives others fits. Highly recommended. Will be purchasing another since I have to transport this back and forth to MILs house because it works so well.

I never thought pulling weeds would be fun but it kind of is now with this weird thing! Once I get zeroed in on the dandelions in my yard I get kind of OCD and just go to town with this thing. They just pluck out so effortlessly. I keep moving a 5 gallon bucket around the yard with me to put the weeds in. Also, I switch sides periodically to avoid soreness. Highly recommend this tool. Life changing I’d say!

4.0 de 5 estrellas Will work as advertised….if you think it through
This tool will work as advertised but you may need to put some thought into what you’re doing. I have seen a couple of reviews where users stated the handle broke. I can see how that can happen. Too much force on the top with a stubborn weed and if you just grip it and rip it then you might be standing there with a handle in your hand. Some weeds don’t give up so easy. First thing I suggest is if you can do your weeding after a good rain then great. Second, be sure to be centered on the weed. After you have it pushed in the ground and centered on your weed, give it a pull test. See how resistant that weed is. It may require you to move your hands down the handle a foot or so to get better leverage on it. For simple easy weeds it will work the way you want it to, but for weeds that root deep, you may need to put some thought into it. It still will make the job easier.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Grandpa Knew His Stuff!
This has to be one of my favorite garden tools!! Seems almost silly when you look at it but having spent many hours on my hands and knees pulling quack grass and dandelions I really love this weed puller. I now stand up, place directly over the weed, push down lightly and gently push towards the arm. The tool locks around the weed and lifts it out of your lawn with minimal damage to the rest of the lawn! Pure Magic!! It is made in the USA and is a small business. There are competitors but I like supporting small business and the quality of this product is impressive. Put some weed pulling magic in your life!

Well, its built sturdy….one of those tools you can pass down to your children, but not sure they’d know what to do with it, nevermind how to use it.Yes, I did stick it in the ground and tried on a few buggers. IMHO, bit oversized for plants like sticker plants: the kind with the burr on the end of the burr…you would not want to fall down into a patch of these seeds from hell. But I digress,…Of course I recommend Grandpa’s Weeder! Enjoy!

5.0 de 5 estrellas Wish my Grandpa designed this
No se pudo cargar el archivo multimedia. We moved into a new-to-us house recently. Previous owners never did anything in the 1.5 acre yard, so it’s full of rather large patches of weeds. I bought this weed puller with the hope it might make the weed removal job easier but somewhat skeptical. Definitely works! Video says it all. Kudos to the Grandpa that came up with this idea.Couple suggestions: 1) Works definitely best after a good rain softens the soil. Makes it more likely you’ll get most/all of the roots. 2) Go slow, less likely the break the pole and more likely the weed will come up out of the ground fully intact, and 3) Tow a garden cart along to carry all the weeds away. Your yard may not be as weed-infested as ours but it definitely helped having a tow-behind to stow the debris until I could make my way over to the dumping grounds or trash can.My guess is that half of all the weeds came up out of the ground after one stab. The other half (typically the larger weeds) I had to make a couple stabs to get most of the weed out. And every once in a while I had to finish the job the old fashioned way, by pulling the remnants out by hand. All good. We need to get some input from Grandpa how to fill all the little pot holes in our yard now where the weeds were living I suspect a bit more rain will eventually make that happen.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Your back will thank you!
With a bad back, old knees and achy body the last thing I want/can do is get down on the ground pulling weeds. When my UPS guy told me about this tool I ordered it immediately! When I say the ease of use is insane, I’m not kidding. It takes zero effort and gets to the literal root of the weed. You can soften your dirt with water beforehand if you have really hard dirt, but I didn’t need to. I even used it wearing flip flops.I was done in no time and didn’t end up with painful hands, back, or knees in the end.

4.0 de 5 estrellas Back saver!
Love this device! I had an abundance of weeds pop up all at once and this really made dealing with them a lot easier! I just go around yard popping them all up first, then going back and picking them up. It’s a well made product and the only reason that I have it 4 instead of 5 stars was that the weeds get stuck in the pincers, which makes u want to lean over to clear out. But, I found you can just use your foot to step on the weed as u pull the tool free. Highly recommend.

I read a lot of reviews and couldn’t quite decide if this would be a good purchase, but I went for it and I’m very glad I did. This works best for large weeds with strong stems, but with practice you can remove pretty much any weed fairly easily. This has made a huge difference for me in terms of my lower back pain and being able to work in the garden more.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Easy and effective
Any weed that has a central stem will pop out with one simple motion. The tool seems too simple to be so effective. I did get overly ambitious and tried to pull up a small mesquite tree and exerted enough force to break the tool. My bad. I now have my second tool and will use it properly and expect it to last many years.

All i did was place the remover in the center of the weed, step on it and pull to the area where the stepping metal is at. i even sent videos to my friends on how easy it was for me to do it since i have issues with my left wrist and i cant put much weight on it. It was light and very sturdy!

4.0 de 5 estrellas really solid product
I’ve got sandbur stickers in my yard here in Oklahoma City and there are thousands of them. I’ve been digging them up by hand with a very small hand held shovel and it was back breaking work so this tool helped me to get almost all of them up in a couple of days. I didn’t give it 5 stars because many times I had dig into each sticker several times because it wouldn’t pluck them out with one try but I think part of that comes from my lawn being really dry. I would imagine though for most weeds it will absolutely yank them out quickly and it’s super easy to use and I don’t see how it could ever break.

Bought this to use on stickers that are very thick in the yard as it would be alot easier than bending over. Works very well the long peg is great for raking the clumps so that the roots can be found. In hard soil it can be difficult to get into the ground to pull but once in they come right out

Works quite well. Yes, you have to manually pull out the weed/dirt that you just effortlessly yanked out of the ground, but just make the tiny effort to bring it up to your waist & pull it out. 4.0 de 5 estrellas Sturdy and reliable weeder!
I have been in my house for almost 10-years and have inherited a yard full of deeply stubborn weeds. I have killed my back, hands, and neck trying to pull out several of them. Because they are deep rooted in my lawn, the use of weed killer sprays means sacrificing my lawn in the process…which isn’t a choice for me. In all this time, I have had to just simply trim them down and keep up with, but never getting rid of them. However, that’s now a thing of the past thanks to Grampa’s Weeder! By stepping on a foot pedal, the claw grips the weed and removes it from the ground as you tilt the handle back. In seconds, these deeply infested rooted weeds were gone! It’s almost like magic! I initially discovered this tool on TikTok and watched many video product reviews from people who used it. After months of watching, I decided to go ahead and purchase one and I am glad I did!Pros:- Reduces back strain: The long handle allows you to weed while standing upright, reducing strain on your back and knees.- Easy to use: The simple design with a foot pedal makes Grampa’s Weeder easy to operate for gardeners of all ages and abilities.- Durable: Made with high-quality materials like steel and hardwood, Grampa’s Weeder is built to last.- Effective on many weeds: Grampa’s Weeder works well on a variety of weeds, including dandelions and thistles.- Eco-friendly: By removing weeds manually, you can avoid using harmful herbicides in your yard.Cons:-Limited use: Grampa’s Weeder is a single-purpose tool and may not be effective for all types of weeds or gardens. For example, it might not be ideal for delicate plants or very rocky soil (or gardens where rock features are used.- Clogging possible: The claw may clog with weeds or debris, requiring you to stop and clean it out.Not for deep-rooted weeds: Grampa’s Weeder may not be strong enough to remove weeds with very deep taproots, although for my yard this wasn’t an issue. If the soil is very damp, the dirt tends to stick to the claw and get clogged requiring clean up, but this was a small price to pay for having the weed pulled out. Unclogging is very easy to resolve.

5.0 de 5 estrellas great for a gardener with a bad back
I am a 66 year old grandma and I garden most days for exercise. I also have a bad back. I pull weeds by hand and with a trowel. This gadget works really easily and gets to the more hard to reach spots as well like just under the prickly rose bushes. My 72 year old husband saw me using it and asked to use it on some tree seedlings that had a year of growth on them. It worked great. This puller tool is very sturdy and the metal is heavy. You can step on it with confidence. You lean it back onto the long metal heel and out pops the weed. I lift the weed up that is grasped in the prong and tap it into my bin. It worked really well on the spurge at the church which has a longer central root.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Works Great!
This works great for pulling weeds. It is so easy to use that my 7 year old went out to pull weeds. The only downside is that there is no way to release the weed once pulled so you have to grab it off.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Works Well/Tall
Works just as advertised. I’m 6’4” and the length of the handle is just right. I think it’s 44 inches or something like that. Shorter would be too short and longer is unnecessary. Sturdy. I read reviews for knock offs which complained about build quality. So far, no worries here. Simple design.. Wooden handle and metal base work perfectly. In the short time I’ve had it, I’ve pulled hundreds of weeds from my 1/2 acre front yard with 0 issues. Oddly satisfying and calming repetitive motion too. Once you really get good at it, you’ll know by feel and sound if you got the whole weed root ball as soon as you dig it in. Final note. I’ve found the most success when I pull the weed out slowly. Pulling it out too fast can leave some of the weed ball behind.

4.0 de 5 estrellas You still have to bend over
After three days of practice with this tool, I am upgrading my review from a three to a four, and if I didn’t still have a backache, I’d give it a five. There is a learning curve here, and the reviews are excellent. They cover all of the pros and cons.I got this primarily because my back is not great and I simply cannot tolerate the bending anymore. I think your soil is a big factor in how well it work. If you get the claw RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the weed and it snaps the root, it does come out of the ground nicely. Don’t pull straight up. Lean and pull towards you. (Duh …. it took me a little while to figure that out.) However, the weed doesn’t come out of the claw. You still have to have leather gloves to pull the mass of weeds off the claw. That was a disappointment. The tool is well made and very sturdy – no doubt about that. It is GREAT for weeds in the lawn and flower beds. It does not work along the sidewalk. That is to say, it is NOT an edger. I’m in Indiana where it is hot and humid and weeds grow overnight. It’s unbelievable, coming from Minnesota. I’m still looking for the right combination of tools to keep my yard looking nice. In MN I needed a mower and a trimmer. In Indiana, I need a mower, trimmer, scraper (if you’re from MN, an ice pick works), edger, weeder, leaf blower and probably some chemical on top of that! Not to mention something to get rid of the groundhogs and other rodents. (Off topic, but did you know that rodents HATE the smell of dog poop. Well, I have plenty of that. It’s free and I just stuff it down the holes!!!) By the time I accumulate everything I need, I will be ready for senior housing. I think I am now.

4.0 de 5 estrellas Surprise!
This came in the biggest box I’ve ever received from Amazon. My husband opened it to find this weeding tool the width of a cane and just a little longer. I had ordered this weeding tool because he had a fracture in his lower back, spring had arrived and he was itching to get at the weeds. THIS WORKS PERFECTLY!! The box AND the tool gave us surprises all around. It removes the root with little effort by the gardener. This weeder is at its best when used in soft, cultivated beds but will also work in more compacted ground if it’s somewhat damp. It saved his back by not having bending over (an action against his doctors orders). I’m looking forward to trying it myself. He highly recommends this product. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the description led us to believe it was made in the USA. We even paid more for it because of it being made here. BUT the weeder has “made in China” clearly stamped into the metal. We like the product and will keep using it but since we passed on cheaper ones for one we thought was made in the USA, we felt taken advantage of.
