Of the peanut oils I tried, Planters is my favorite. 1) It has a high smoke point. 2) It adds a pleasant, though mild, flavor to the Asian dishes and salad dressings that I make. However, I do wish the peanut flavor were stronger.

I remember buying Planter Peanut oil and it had a nice aroma of roasted peanuts. I opened this bottle and smelled it and it was completely neutral – nothing. No character whatsoever. I poured a little on a teaspoon to taste it and it had zero taste. Not worth the price. Any cheap Safeway brand, canola oil or corn oil would be just as good for frying.If you want high quality peanut oil try the green peanut oil that is fresh pressed (not extracted with chemical solvents) from Oliver Farm in Georgia.

Planters Peanut Oil has been my favorite oil for making toasted potato wedges for years, originally in the oven, now in the air fryer. I get it a couple times a year at the local grocery. But the local stores have been out of stock for months. I finally gave in and ordered from Amazon, literally the only place I could find it.The item came on time and was in good condition. I have found our local stores to only sell peanut oil in one gallon quantity.Since I use peanut oil in a spray bottle, a gallon was a ridiculous waste of product.I don’t appreciate the inflated price of this bottle.

Since it is hard to find in local stores I had to order it on Amazon. Price is a bit high. Only 24 oz instead of a full 32 oz. What really is annoying is that it was shipped loose in an Amazon plastic shipping bag. It did arrive safely, but what a mess if it had been damaged.

A lot of fast food places have swapper peanut oil for other oils due to allergy concerns over the last 20+ years but peanut oil is great for copycat recipes if allergies aren’t a concern. Made copycat Chik-fil-a with this and it was everything I ever wanted on a Sunday.

dont know what is going on in peanut oil world, but hard to find in smaller sizes so bought these. Good oil but WAY OVERPRICED. Unfortunately we use a lot of oil so guess inflation in peanut processing has kicked in. Like the smaller sizes because they stay unopened and fresh until you need one.

Fried seasoned turkey in peanut oil is a generational favorite. Popping pop corn in peanut oil as a snack is very tasty. Also as a snack, since potatoe chips are over priced in the local market these days, try frying thinly sliced potatoes in peanut oil like families did in the past. You might like it and save money at the same time. 😋

When I fill up my deep fryer, I use a peanut oil I get at the local warehouse, and it is darker and has more of a peanut taste. I think this must be more highly refined. I have used this to top my fryer off though when the level got low because it is easier to handle than the great big jugs or boxes that I buy.BUT, I love to keep one of these 24 ounce bottles around for high temperature grilling and frying. This is a good size to keep in the cabinet above my stove- it’s fairly light so it’s easy to grab, open and use just a bit of at a time.The flavor is a delicate peanut flavor and it’s a very light, very clear oil. You can smell the peanuts and it does have that taste, it’s just not super strong- it never overpowers delicate foods.It is really good for pan grilling steaks, though sometimes I use grape oil instead. I tend to like to marinade in olive oil, but using the peanut oil in the bottom of the grill pan boosts my cooking oil to a high smoke point.It’s good – it’s a very convenient size. It’s just perhaps a bit too refined for some uses, but that’s a plus for delicate foods. It has its place in my kitchen though.

I had to send away to Amazon for this because for some reason QFC and Safeway doesn’t carry it anymore. In my opinion this is the best to use for frying fish. For some reason the peanut taste just goes with fish. Dont use Olive oil because it evaporates too fast

Peanut oil is the best frying oil! It has a super high smoke point (approximately 448°F), which means that it lasts longer than other oils because it takes longer to “break down”. In addition, it’s low in saturated fat and is free of cholesterol and trans fat – which doesn’t mean that fried food is healthy (just to be clear), but as far as frying oils go, this is the king of all oils! Also noteworthy: According to the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network, the process used to make peanut oil removes the proteins responsible for allergic reactions, so it’s suitable for people with a peanut allergy.Planters 100% Pure Peanut Oil lasts a super long time without smelling bad or making fried food taste bad. I did a lot of research into oils used for griddle cooking and settled on peanut oil. I also use peanut oil for frying my turkeys at Thanksgiving. Planters is a known brand and typically makes a high quality product. This size is perfect for use on the griddle.

My preferred oil when stir frying or deep fat frying is peanut oil. It has a high smoke point, unlike my overall favorite olive oil, which does not do well frying at high temperatures. This brand of peanut oil has a clean taste, and subtle flavor so the peanut aspect is quite far in the background. Its main attribute is it performs beautifully at high temperatures.I like the 24 ounce bottle and sometimes have trouble finding it locally. Obviously if refilling a deep-fat fryer or planning another big job, like frying a turkey, this pint and a half bottle may not be the best choice. But, it is a good size to keep around when only a small amount is occasionally needed for frying or sauteing. The “best before” date for the bottle I ordered from prime pantry is eleven months in the future.
