Works just fine, does what it says it does – stick it in the ground, twist, pull up the weed and root. The spring to eject the weed is a little stiff on ours and requires more force than I might have otherwise expected, but that’s not a big deal.

Once we got the hang of how this works, it’s great. The reviews about it leaving a hole in your yard is true, but in our case the holes are better than the crabgrass that was there.Biggest complaint is that the foot pedal that allows you to get the tines further into the ground has bent downward, which makes it more difficult to spin especially on the side of a slope.Wish I could remove the pedal altogether.

This is a really great item. It does exactly what you needed to do when removing weeds and I like that it comes with the additional tool and gloves which have been a big help with me cleaning up my yard. My only complaint about this product is that the lever up top to release the weeds and dirt could be a bit more comfortable/user-friendly because it does hurt your palm after a while. Also, my lever came broken and I really needed to clean my yard so I didn’t return/exchange. So far after a couple of uses the broken lever hasn’t been an issue but I don’t know how much longer that will be the case.

I’m very surprised there are no instruction for use and care of the product. The manufacturer could at least provide diagrams for use. I copied the illustrations provided by Amazon and included them in the cartion. It was very well packed in bubble wrap. It seems very sturdy. I can’t give a rating for Easy to use or Ergonomic as this is a gift for someone.

I thought plasric but actual metal. Sharp claw at bottom. Easy to use just step into ground twist pull and pop out weed. The weeds I have are hugh and have to do several times. But saves your back. I’ve pulled over 50 weeds so far has not broken good product and gloves are great too. Product packaged well too. I love it.

Based on other reviews I bought this one over some of the cheaper options. I am so glad I did! My yard is clay mixed with rocks, and the beefy tines are holding up very well. It is very satisfying to use, pulls up the whole weed in one shot and ejects it into the waste bucket. I am getting addicted to pulling weeds now.

Best tool to remove weeds without use of chemicals. It is sturdy and helps to remove weeds with its root. Sometimes it takes more than one attempt to remove the weed fully. Otherwise it is an excellent tool.

The Stand Up weeder is so easy to use. I had a bunch of tall, fully grown weeds that had grown between the bricks of my patio. It was a very daunting task. I didn’t know if this would work but it actually was very simple to use. It didn’t take long and I didn’t have to bend over a lot. I’m really glad I bought it instead of hiring a professional for something it turns out I can easily take care of myself.

This one works to pull weeds out. The teeth on the prongs are set to go different directions so when you push it down and turn it breaks the roots loose.

This puller is so hefty – all major parts are metal and strong. It worked great for weeds that have an obvious center. It does make about a 1-inch diameter hole in the ground, which seems obvious given it’s design. It is not good for ground-spreading flat weeds. If you can’t easily find the center with the root structure, this device does nothing. I was able to clear my 1/3 acre yard of the taller, center root weeds in about 30 minutes without too much bending over (my stupid back) and without breaking a sweat. Those weeds that grow taller than the grass, and make mowing more frequent – they’re gone! Win for me!

Looking to save money this year my husband and I have decided to do the majority of our landscape work ourselves~ We have invested in lots of gardening tools; this being one of my favorites so far! It pulls the weeds up nearly effortlessly and it’s unique design allows me to do so without disrupting any of the nearby plants. Also without having to bend down or even touch the weeds with my bare hands for risk of poison ivy exposure.It can handle all sizes! I have yet to come across a scenario where I could not use my new weed puller.Unless the soil is really dry after a long heat wave ~Nothing a little watering camp fix however.crab grass is also easy to tackle.Very easy to use and came fully assembled.The handles are very smooth saving my hands from calluses. Solid and durable build construction~ I look forward to getting many years of use out of my new garden gadget. Worth every penny!

The whole reason I got this, was to try and eliminate bending over all the time for weeds. Does it work? Yes. It takes a little while to get used to and to really get the weed out of the ground. It’s a bit faster to bend and dig them up, but when your back hurts, this tool works.

I have TONS of weeds, & was hoping to escape the constant bending.Pros: Easy to use.* Great for the big/mean weeds. I have some weeds with pickers on the sides, which this is perfect for. It twists them right out, & gets a lot of the root, to boot. It does a good job on big Dandelions, too, getting a lot more root than just tugging them out.* The plunger on the handle makes releasing the weed out of the tool easy, Yay.* The gloves & small tool seems like a minor freebie, but they’re really quite good.I love the gloves, with plastic on the front, & breathable on the backs. Way better.The tiny crowbar tool is surprisingly helpful. Popped weeds out like nothing. Especially in dry dirt.Cons: Still a lot of bending.* The big tool leaves a substantial hole behind. Not quite a golf ball size, but pretty close.* Despite the plunger, you’re eventually gonna have to go collect all the weeds you pull, & bending is part of the deal for that, so you are gonna bend a lot, even with the tools. (I rake first, then bend)* The large holes are a problem, if you have a lot of weeds. I had to bend down to shake off the dirt from the weeds, into all the holes, to try to fill them back in. More bending.Overall, I liked the big tool for the bigger, meaner weeds, but for small weeds, it’s faster to use the little pry bar they gave with it. I found myself using that a lot more than the big one, & it just pries the weed out, without leaving a big hole behind. Just a quick shake of the weed, & tamp down the dirt.The included gloves are my new Go-to gloves, & I ordered some similar ones, after the first use. I’m hoping they’ll be the same (they look the same). They’re soooo much better than any garden gloves I’ve ever used. They fit well, allow me to feel what I’m doing, & keep my hands clean & dry, without getting all sweaty. I’ve done multiple days of weeding with them, just washing my hands while wearing them to clean up after I’m done, then I use them the next day. I’ve used them a lot, & am happy, but they will wear out soon, at the rate I’m going. I want more on hand when that happens.

I was enjoying using the Colwelt Stand Up Weeder. After two hours of use, it fell apart. The mechanism for pushing the weeds away from the prongs unscrewed at the top and the spring and knob fell off. I tried to put it back together without success. Also, one of the gardening gloves came with a brownish-red stain on the finger, which I was just going to let go of. I could not find the Colwelt Company to contact a customer service rep. The address given is an Amazon Fulfillment Center. When looking for warranty information about a product, Amazon is not helpful when stating to contact the manufacturer without providing details. If I do not hear from anyone at Colwelt, I will be returning this item.

Works perfectly, but you have to be gentle when you pop out the weed. If you hit the button too hard too many times the top comes off, releasing the spring, etc. It went back together very easily, and now I just occasionally tighten the screw top and all is good. Be aware that it works by removing a 1×1″ cone of soil with the weed root. I shake it back out into the hole . . .

This tool is good for larger weeds, including weeds with tap roots or runners. You can get smaller weeds but they don’t stay attached to the tool and you have to bend over. Not that bending over is bad unless you are having health issues like I have lately. I am happy with the tool so far and look forward to using it soon to clear up the yard.

The idea is great and it certainly is easier on the back and knees. The video makes it look much easier to use than we found. it to be. The release wasn’t clean and only certain types of weeds came out easily.

This thing is the best thing since sliced bread!!! I wish I had found this years ago my back would be in alot better shape I’m sure!! I have a bunch of flower beds and this makes keeping weeds out so much faster. A must have for any gardener!!

Disappointed, after following the diagram of directions, the weed stays in the ground and doesn’t come with when pulled up. You would still have to bend down to pluck the weed off the ground which defeats the purpose. Returning.

I purchased this tool last Spring. The release function came loose about a third of the way through the season. It no longer has the part that releases the weeds. I still use it to dig and remove weeds, as that quite useful and sturdy. But the release function is no longer.

It is a very sturdy piece of equipment, it gets large patches of crab grass out of clay soil easily. The release button is easy to press and gets all the dirt and weeds out of the blades. The gloves and smaller tool I have yet to use, but the small tool is also sturdy and the gloves are cute (medium sized).

In theory it was great but after i pulled the 4th weed out the contraption broke. The spring at the bottom got stuck. The handheld was cheap it bent after the second use.

This product works well for what it is designed to do, HOWEVER, be very careful not to injure yourself when you use it. Ours had a poor weld at the top where you have to grip the device, and despite wearing work (not just gardening) gloves, it tore a hole in my hand – bled right through the glove.

This works best on soil that’s soft, or at least not rocky. It’s pretty simple – place over the weed, step in, and twist. It works great.

I returned this because it left big holes in the ground that I had to refill. I didn’t have to bend to pull weeds; I had to bend to fill in holes. It’s such a good idea, but it did not work for me.
