  1. ANNE

5.0 de 5 estrellas Easy to spray on mulch and pebbles
My husband really liked how easy it was to spray this glue over mulch and pebbles. Adding the water made the application easier. He originally applied another mulch glue product that did not require the addition of water and he found application of the product to be very difficult. The glue was too thick to spray. The PetraMax mulch glue, however, sprayed on easily and worked really well. He applied 3 coats and it looks great.

1.0 de 5 estrellas Did NOT bind mulch
I mixed the mulch glue per the instructions. I used the entire contents on 1/2 the square footage it could potentially cover. I even went so far as to purchase the PetraTools sprayer thinking a) it was meant specifically for mulch glue and b) to ensure the desired results by using products from the same manufacturer. A few days later, when I was blowing leaves, the mulch blew everywhere. I should have listened to other reviews. It’s not even that the result was disappointing. It just doesn’t work. At least not on “Timberline” brand mini-pine bark nuggets.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Mulch glue is AWESOME!
Mulch Glue has really specific applications that will amaze you and is a welcome addition to your garden and patio IF you have pebbles or loose mulch. I have a patio with small pebbles in between concrete slabs. It looks great until you walk on it and the pebbles are sent flying into the grass. Don’t even get me started about when the dogs come outside and run onto the patio. It’s pebbles akimbo. I saw this product and decided to give it a try.I bought the recommended sprayer to evenly disperse the glue. I prepped the pebbles by refilling each area between the concrete, hosed them off and let them dry, mixed the Mulch Glue as directed on the container and then simply sprayed the glue on the pebbles. Here are the best parts: this is non-toxic to pets, water will drain through the pebbles, the pebbles become shiny (bonus in my book!), any overspray doesn’t show, it dries quickly, and multiple coatings make it stronger. I’ve noticed that the weeds that usually grow between the pebbles have been greatly reduced (another bonus).I am about to order two more containers to spray the mulch in the front gardens. Mulch Glue is a great product and one that many gardeners will appreciate!

I thought it would be a joke but dam it worked. I have a lot of little stone paths and stepping stones with little rocks between them. After two coats of this they do not move, sweep them step on them, they don’t move. As it says on the bottle you will need to do it again, my stones stayed put for about 3 months.

    1.0 de 5 estrellas Doesn’t work
Wouldn’t even give this one star! I applied this to both mulch and pea gravel. All it did for the mulch was make it shiny. Absolutely zero gluing effect. It worked on the gravel’s top layer but now sticks to your shoes when walking on it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Its like applying elmers glue. Wish I had paid better attention to the directions and noticed it was water-based. AND – it took forever to apply in a mix sprayer because its so thick. SUPER disappointed.

The mulch glue was used to hold landscaping gravel in place between patio pavers and around the perimeter of the patio. Works very well.

4.0 de 5 estrellas Lives up to what it says it does, just not against the dreaded leaf blower
Stands up well against Midwest weather but didn’t stand a chance against the lawn company and their leaf blower! I spent the next hour picking up my mulch, but plus side, the glue did hold that mulch together in chunks as it flew through the yard.Very easy to mix, we had to buy a gallon sprayer to use for the glue mixture. Dried perfectly clear, you couldn’t even tell it was on the mulch.

  11. Cindi W.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Easy to use
We purchased this Mulch Glue to hold small pebbles in place. The pebbles are the grout, so-to-speak, between each of our slate stones around our fire pit. The glue works very well and although a few pebbles roll away when you walk, it’s 1000 times better than it was before. The glue does make the pebbles look a little darker and a little bit shiny. And they do look glued down. But we are happy to not be kicking pebbles around every time we walk. It was easy to mix and spray onto the ground.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Excellent Product!
I used this product to keep my rocks and mulch out of the yard and to make it easier to edge/weed eat around the landscape. It works just as intended. The only thing I don’t like is that it leaves a slightly shiny coating over the rocks that I noticed. But I no longer have stray rocks in the grass or flinging rocks when I’m trimming around them. And when I blow the trimmings off the rocks and mulch aren’t also blown away too. I’ll for sure take a slight alteration of the coloring for those benefits. I’ll definitely use this product again.

The first product I ordered didn’t work at all so I reached out to customer service for Petra Tools and Tin (customer service) helped amazingly and sent out a bottle of the max mulch glue that works amazingly. We had a few runs sine and my mulch that used to float away is still intact.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Works great.
No se pudo cargar el archivo multimedia. It does just what it says. I made a rock walkway because my dog dug up the mulch. I used a spray bottle instead not a sprayer because spray bottles are cheaper and easier to clean. As you can see from the video, I’ll need to add another coat on some parts but there are other parts that are glued down and won’t move. I did walk on it and had some movement but for me, this is is a small space and people won’t really walk on it. They have plenty of space to walk without this space. I’ll add another coat this week.Highly recommended

5.0 de 5 estrellas Vital to install
If you have a gardener and have installed decorative wood chip, this product is a must have. As after chip are installed over a relatively short amount of time the gardener blower will displace your wood chips exposing cords for outdoor lighting, and soil, this product will prevent this and it holds the wood chips in place. Allowing your yard to look as good as your original wood chips installation intended to cover cords and soil for a much longer undisturbed duration.

  22. Lindsay Kramer

5.0 de 5 estrellas Works well with mulitple coats
Love this mulch glue! However, it needs multiple coats to properly adhere the way I’m needing it too. Even though this mixture is concentrated and you’re supposed to mix it with water, I still didnt find it to be enough for the job I was anticipating. Also, keep in mind – it changes (or preserves) the coloring of the mulch and prevents fading, so best to use it all over and not just in spots or it’ll look patchy

5.0 de 5 estrellas My favorite yard care find of the year!
I recently tried Mulch Glue in my garden, and it has saved me so much time and effort.I used to spend hours fixing mulch that would get displaced by wind, rain, or my dog’s playful antics. But with Mulch Glue, all those issues are a thing of the past… for now. It’s super easy to apply, and it holds the mulch in place fairly well. The only reason for the 4 stars is that after a few weeks I could tell that the glue was becoming slightly less effective at securing the mulch. I guess that’s to be expected to a degree We’ll see how long it really lasts.I’m happy with the purchase and I plan on spraying this annually now to avoid cleaning up wind-blown mulch every day.

I put on a couple of heavy coats to my pea stones around my Firepit and it is real sturdy. I have a puppy who runs around and none of the tiny stones have been dislodged! It is super easy to use and I mixed the water with it directly in my sprayer. It also dried quickly but I did not step on it until the next day. I will probably have to reapply next spring but it seems well worth it. I’m thinking of applying to my mulch as well

4.0 de 5 estrellas Holds strong so far
This product really does a good job at holding pea stones on our gravel steps. It lays down a clear coat of, what feels and looks like, plastic over the pea stones. So far it is holding well. But, it falls well short of the coverage that they claim. In our case it took 2 bottles to cover 6 steps that are about 24″ wide by 22″ deep.

5.0 de 5 estrellas Sticky enough, it works
The first time we purchased this product, we didn’t not water it down enough and it turned really hard on the mulch, which we liked. The second time we purchased the following year for our mulch outfront, we added too much water and had to spray twice in order for the mulch to be harder from the glue. Would definately purchase this product again.

    2.0 de 5 estrellas I wouldn’t buy this again
If you live in a damp area, be prepared to have the area you spray have a white tint to it all the time (Its bad). I thought it would have gone away after a few storms but nope… 1month+ later and it still looks like someone sprayed my entire area with Elmer’s glue. It semi keeps my rubber mulch in 1 place but I had to spay the entire contents on a simple 5X5 area. This isn’t cost effective and even more so…seems to harm the appearance of what its used on. 2 stars because my mulch kind of sticks to itself and stays down.

4.0 de 5 estrellas Too expensive for the volume sold
The product does its job and pebbles are glued indeed however i wd have expected that it prevent the growth of the weeds, after I already applied weeds killer prior to spraying the glue. So it does only one job: keeps the pebbles together. If this is the only thing you desire, then the product is efficient.

The product dries shiny and takes a huge amount of spray to do the job. Quite expensive. For small areas it will be OK, but for large areas, it is impractical, especially if you have deer and kids walking through and playing in the mulch (which disturbs the bond).

My mulch and my stones are not moving and I can blow leaves out without worrying about losing mulch. It was a little messy and sticky putting in the sprayer but I think that’s to be expected. 5.0 de 5 estrellas Finally Worked
Bought this for black rubber mulch I placed along the plant pads on either side of the walkway at my front door. I applied as directed around 4:00 pm. It turned the mulch a hazy bluish color, and didn’t appear to do much else. I checked on it about an hour later and it was the same. Two hours later, no change. By 10 PM that night it was still damp and the mulch was loose. I woke up the next morning around 7 AM and checked it again, and it was still damp and loose. I gave up.As I was leaving the house around 2:00 pm – almost 24 hours later – I came out and noticed that the haze had cleared up…and the mulch was sticking together – it FINALLY worked!. To be on the safe side, I completed another application, thoroughly soaking the entire sections over again…. I don’t think that mulch is going anywhere.

If it wasn’t so expensive I’d buy and use a lot more of it for all my pathways.*** Tip: it takes at least 24 hours to fully dry, so don’t apply before a rain, and don’t walk on it until next full day at least. ***I applied to my pea gravel in February and it’s been rock solid through storms, dogs running over it and multiple leaf blowings. Started noticing a few top pebbles coming loose this week so I re-applied a little to the top, and rock solid again.Worried about drainage? Rain water just straight through the pea gravel like it’s nothing. no problems draining

I tried to use this on a pea gravel patio like I saw recommend on a few pinterest pins, but it did not work at all for us. There were a few small areas where the gravel stuck together for a few days, but once my kids stepped on it, the gravel all separated again. My guess it that it only works on thinner layers of gravel. I did not use it for it’s intended use (mulch) though so maybe that would work better.

Would that work the same way?

3.0 de 5 estrellas You have to buy a lot
This is definitely gonna be a pricey thing to accomplish. I did a light spray over mulch and I don’t have a lot of mulch in my mulch beds, but I wanted to spray it down and glue it that way when I’m leaf flowing or what not the mulch stays. I’m gonna have to buy like four or five more in order to complete this. I bought one and I thought that was gonna do the job for the whole front of my house. It did not for one container of glue you have to use two containers of water. so that only creates 1 gallon. You need like 5 gallons to really glue this stuff down. So if you’re looking for less expensive, don’t go this route. It does go on white and it’s easy to see where you put the glue on. It’s easy to use. I’m not sure about the quality yet , so Far one coating did nothing

3.0 de 5 estrellas Smells and peels like Elmer’s glue
I wish they didn’t send rate product requests same day-next day after delivered.. day 4 and finally got around to it. I got the 32oz size and read a ton of reviews to base my ratios from bottle. I may or may not have done correctly but I did 50% 16oz to 3/4th gallon and the remainder 16oz on almost another 3/4th gallon. Doing 2 solid dernch coats in a semi large areas ttling around 160sf and 3-4 coats along cement edging 20-24inches width after about 30 min the rock pressing with hand seems to be holding near concrete as im not gonna walk on it for a while as per the only part of instructions I followed but seems like it’s gonna work… TBD…I’m giving 3 stars for now as it’s possible it’s a glorified Elmer’s glue at a way higher $ rate. And will update how it went later but so far good. My main goal was to at least reduce kick up from dogs and walking by 50% and it seems it will at least do that between the rock and mulch area. Update: 72+hrs didn’t work on the muclh really at all and only a few small area chunks of the pea rocks are glued together. Worked maybe 10% still keeping the 3 stars bc it could have been my error.

Works good on white rocks not so much with the rubber mulch. But still was ok

I was spraying on a small area of medium bark. First coat sunk in like I didn’t even spray it. Second coat got a bit wetter for longer. Next day it was as if I hadn’t applied it so I used up the rest to spray it twice again. Following day the bark is still not stuck and when the sun is overhead it sticks to my feet when I walk on it. There’s got to be better products out there.

The mulch glue quality was impressive! The drying time was very quick. The thickness surprised me. The appearance was great considering that once the glue dried you couldn’t see it at all! Great product!

This is a good product but the price is crazy for how small the bottle is and how much you have to dilute it. One bottle = 1 coat and they suggest doing 2 – 3 coats which is $150 at that point just to make the mulch not move.

I waited a few weeks before posting a review. I only have a small pathway and we used the 32oz but I guess you really need a lot this stuff to stay in place. the first week it held up pretty well , week two it’s not sticking together as much. I figured this would last at least a year, not two weeks. I would definitely buy the bigger bottle
